As a follow up to last weeks post about the beginnings of a new DMX control matrix, I put together a quick screen-capture. In the video you will hear song by Ayria named Bad List, while working on this project I am using the full (as recorded to CD) versions of the tracks, so that I can set time triggers based on vocal or musical elements. These completed tracks will be replaced for the live show with simplified beat tracks so that the live performers are playing synced to the lighting controls. I will not be on tour with the band, therefore; the project needs to made simple and portable, for this reason I did not want to introduce any additional IO like midi or Open Sound Control.

Week 4. I bring you a real gem. Not much to say here, this video is beautiful in HD 1080p. I am including a full resolution image clip below to show the actual richness this video contains.
I will be re-rendering this one soon with a smoother in out movement, right now its using a triangle wave, and I find it a little too sharp, so I am planning to change this to a sine wave.
This video like many I produce started square. Why square? Because it is actually a perfect tile in all directions when square and can be used as an amazing 3D texture.

This the third installment is the outcome of my experimenting with some new features provided in the latest pre-release of Isadora.
Using the new 3D output feature of the Isadora f25 pre-release, this effect was my first experiment with this new version.  It is generated entirely within Isadora using a 3D particle emitter that creates a starting point for a number of other effects (too many to list).
My original render of this live effect was made at 1024x768 and looks fantastic. I will be rerendering this one at 1080p ASAP, however; rendering caused me some trouble, and actually caused me to submit a bug report. Just something small, and I am sure it will be fixed for the final releast.
This effect being very CPU intensive I eventually set Isadora to render at 1/10th the regular frame rate so that my quad i7 laptop could keep up.

Now the second installment in this weekly post.
Again this FX was made with the presentation framework/toolset SYST3M which is offered FREE right on this site, however; this time I used a few freely available vj clips from VJ Fader. I believe there are 3 or 4 VJ Fader clips being mixed via SYST3M's 4 channel video sequencer, some delay was used on a clip or two, a feedback spin effect, and finally composited over a back and white (at 30 opacity) grunge/noise background (also created entirely in SYST3M).

The first in what I hope to be a weekly series of fresh video FXs.
This FX was made entirely with the presentation framework/toolset SYST3M which is offered FREE right on this site.
Using a NEW motion detection module, this effect is created by running a video loop (fire spinner) into the motion track module. The readings from this module control numerous other effects. The effect looks killer with a live video feed used instead of a canned clip..
